This collection contains the first five of the twelve songs from Norwegian sources originally published in two collections by Augener. Unlike the orchestral Seven Danish Songs (DCW Coll. 4), these songs were originally composed to a German translation, despite Delius's later confusion over the fact (see RT, 93). Given the coherence of the manuscript and publication history, details of sources are given here rather than with individual song records. The date of first performance is unknown.
