However, new material was composed in the middle section. This item contains i) ink and pencil sketches in the hand of Fenby, each marked 'sketch for Song of Summer (1929), dictated to Eric Fenby' and ii) incomplete first fair copy of A Song of Summer, headed 'A Song of Summer. Copy of MSS by Eric Fenby'. Pages 12-17 of Fenby's score are missing. Pages 12-15 were donated to the Bodleian (see sources for Poem of Life and Love), and pp. 16 and 17, as part of the autograph score of Poem and Life and Love, have been restored to that manuscript.
